Entertainment in 2020 My first blog...Try not to fall asleep!

Updated: Nov 26, 2020

What a time to be alive! 2020 has been a roller-coaster for many of us (if not all). If you’re in the entertainment industry, you know of the forever changing effect this year has had.

Don’t get me wrong...it started pretty well! The first few months were the usual.

January - A baron wasteland of little gigs (same most years) People still skint after buying gifts for people who have probably stored them in a box already, only to be found in the attic in 24 years. One or two gigs come in but not many people go to the pubs and clubs in January. Everyone is “getting fit”. How did that go for you by the way?

Want to see my transformation this year? Look below.

February - MY BIRTHDAY MONTH! No wait, I’m in my 30s now. Let’s forget that.

A few more gigs are on the horizon. Still not enough to buy me that £1.5 million house I saw on Zoopla last week though. Oh well, at least I have some acting days to tide me over. Still cold. At least its March soon and everything gets better.

March - LOCKDOWN.

oh for F^%ks sake! One gig and that’s it. Government— “This virus came from bats so you can’t sing or play guitar to anyone anymore.” makes sense...

Rest of the year - HOW CAN I MAKE MONEY!?! Bet we’ve all asked ourselves this all year. I’ve taken up work in a Royal Mail Warehouse, a day doing DPD delivering (I was too delicate to do more), and Dominos delivery driver. (Free pizza sometimes so that’s the best!)

I have also started copywriting. If you don’t know what this is...google it.

Its to do with what I love which is writing. Could you tell?

So, I’m just starting out with that journey and I feel quite excited by it.

This year hasn’t been filled with excitement but when it does crop it, it feels more special than before.

I might have lost a HUGE chunk of my income this year and doing something I really enjoy (entertaining you fine folk) but it has also been the kick up the ass which I needed.

So it’s now November 2020. There are no signs of this ending anytime soon. Music will be on hold till Spring/Summer 2021 (In Wales at least) so what can ya do?!

In the mean time, I will keep working on working on projects.

Let me know what you've changed this year. Have you found a new career path because your normal job has gone?

So, to end my first blog, I leave you with one message

“Keep on the sunny side of life”

March 2020 - October 2020
